MS. VICTORIA CHEE
Victoria graduated from the University of Nottingham in 2008 with a LLB (Hons), and subsequently completed her Master of Laws in International Legal Practice (LL.M) in The College of Law London with a dissertation specializing in “Arbitration Practice in Asia”. Victoria was then called to the English bar as a Barrister-At-Law (Lincoln’s Inn) in England 2009. She then returned to Malaysia and chambered under Shearn Delamore & Co. before she was admitted to the High Court of Malaya in 2011. She subsequently returned to Sabah and was then called to the High Court of Sabah and Sarawak in 2013.
Victoria’s passion for the law has shown through her vast repertoire of cases handled across various areas of law which include dispute resolution, civil litigation, criminal litigation, family law and adoption, immigration, banking, employment, bankruptcy, real estate, corporate, environmental law, probate, estate law, private wealth and family business. As a Mediator on the panel of Bar Council Malaysian Mediation Centre, her reputation for handling sensitive family corporate disputes precedes her coupled with her mediation skills and business acumen has seen her successfully manage cross border corporate disputes for multinational companies involving different jurisdictions with multi-million dollar transactions negotiated.
Victoria’s practice has now crossed international borders and she currently handling legal matters for various multinational corporations in Singapore, Taiwan, the Philippines, Indonesia, Thailand, Australia, China, Hong Kong and New Zealand. Her fluidity, experience and knowledge of law has seen her clients entrusting her with cases involving multiple industries which include timber, agriculture, infrastructure, renewable energy, construction, banking, property and insurance.
In addition to her long list of legal experience, Victoria also gives back to the community by being involved in charity organisations. She is currently the legal advisor to Sabah Pangolin Sanctuary and Research Institute (SAPSARI) and consistently undertakes legal pro bono work for Taiwan Buddhist Tzu-Chi Foundation Malaysia.
